Killing Animals – Unethical and Immoral
Wednesday, June 16, 2010Man has forever hounded animals as the beginning of meter. 1st, it cost a affair of endurance. Early man hunted animals for food and then later, for the animal’s fur to keep warm and stay alive in the winter. While the actions of early man were justified, the actions of modern man are just unacceptable and completely uncivilized.
Modern man hunts and kills animals for sport, recreation and for cosmetic reasons. Man has hunted Unusual species of animals to extinction. If any animal has the misfortune of having thick, lush fur, chances are that man has hunted and killed it to make coats with its fur. If this senseless killing continues then one day man will have destroyed all animal life on earth, and in the process brought about his own destruction. The time now is critical for Plus Pets. Action has to be taken today and now!
Gorillas, bears, seals, wolves, whales and dolphins are regularly hunted and killed for either fur or meat.
What makes this unethical and immoral is the way these creatures are hunted and killed for Movie Cult. What also makes this so senseless is that all of these creatures are killed, not because there is any necessity or solid reasoning, but because their meat is fancied by a few people and their fur makes for great coats and hats.
Gorillas
Sometimes, animals just get caught in the crossfire by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. In Virunga National Park, Congo, ten gorillas were killed in 2007. The reason why this made news was the fact that these gorillas were not killed for their skin or for meat. They were just trapped, slaughtered and left behind. Investigations showed that the killings were just a tactic to create a diversion from the illegal and illicit activities of trafficking of a mineral from the area. These gorillas were just killed and left behind so that all attention would be diverted to them and the smuggling of the mineral could go unchecked. This is yet another classic example of man’s greed and the senseless killings of these fine animals.
Bears
The old tradition of wearing bearskin hats by the Royal Guard during ceremonies like Trooping the Color and the Changing of the Guard, have meant that many bears in Canada are hunted every year for their fur. These bears are enticed with food and then shot dead in cold blood while their cubs are left behind, defenseless and without any protection. Attempts have been made to replace bearskin hats by fake fur hats. Wearing bearskin hats is purely symbolic. Nothing changes if the hats are replaced by fake fur hats. Surely a tradition like this can be changed without any delay or debate. These are the cases where man has to put his foot down immediately and say no to more killings.
Seals
The seal trade! Blood and mayhem every year. Baby seals are clubbed to death. Video hosting sites are full of footage of seals being clubbed to death and then skinned. The chilling fact is that many of these seals are skinned alive. Every year between 90,000 and 1,00,000 seals are killed for their fur. And they are all killed in the same brutal and barbaric way. They are clubbed to death and even before they die they are skinned alive. There has been an international outcry against seal hunting. More people need to come out and voice their opinions against this terrible trade. Hunting animals for their skins should be stopped in every country.
Wolves
There are other cases where animals have survived the carnage and are no longer on the endangered list. The gray wolves of Idaho are such creatures. They were on the endangered list a while back and have now successfully bred and survive in the wild. But the irony of the situation is that because they have been delisted as being endangered, the hunting of these animals has begun once again. The argument offered is that the numbers of the gray wolves have grown substantially to a point where livestock and people are in danger from them. The simple truth is they are once again being hunted for their fur.
Whales And Dolphins
Japan has earned the dubious and notorious distinction of being the largest killer of whales and dolphins in the entire world. Whales are large mammals, the largest of all mammals, and are intelligent and highly evolved. They have a highly developed sense of communication that is almost unparalleled in the animal kingdom. In fact, their communication abilities are so astounding that in some cases it has been noticed that their high pitched vocalizations appear to contain many aspects of a language.
Dolphins are even more evolved creatures. Dozens of studies on dolphins have shown that they have a language of their own and are very intelligent creatures. Dolphins have always had a special bond with man, and there have been many instances of dolphins rescuing people from the sea and from predators.
These intelligent creatures are hunted in Japan. They are killed by the hundreds and thousands. The way they are killed is brutal and barbaric. No modern country should behave in this way and condone this type of killing. Dolphins are massacred every year in a town in Japan called Taiji. Hundreds of dolphins are herded into a small cove and are then literally bludgeoned to death. The scene of the carnage is so devastating that the entire water runs red with the blood of the dolphins.
These dolphins are massacred because their meat is sold as whale’s meat which is very popular in Japan. The desire for whale meat has meant the end for thousands of whales. Whales have been hunted to the point of extinction in Japan because of the popularity of the meat. Hunting whales is no less pleasant than the hunting of dolphins. Whales are chased for long distances until they get tired and cannot swim. Then they are harpooned and dragged onto waiting boats. It takes a long time to kill a whale because of its size and the whales die a long and agonizing death. They are literally cut alive when they are hoisted onto the boats after being impaled with harpoons. These gentle giants of the ocean are being hunted down with a ferocity that will only lead to their extinction.
Man has to make a stand now. He has to stop all the killing or he will end up killing every animal on earth and upset nature’s delicate balance. Every single person is responsible to make himself heard and insist that killing animals is unacceptable!
